My interview experience with Google

From the past couple of months i have been thinking of writing blogs. but could not get some spare time to start with and another reason was the topic of my choice probably. Well, I am still working on the later one, however I would pen down my experience that I had interviewing with google.
The F**k started with when I posted my resume against one the openings on the google job portal. At that time, I did it just for fun, as I never even thought that I could even get a call from the big G. So, after sending them my resume, I got a call say after a week. I was driving then, when I got a call. The guy was nice and I had a first short conversation with him for about couple of minutes (I had to park my car roadside L), and he fixed me up for another round, that was supposed to be technical.
He also gave me a time frame to work on the topics that could be asked. I took a time a 4-5 days and gave my a** out. The technical guy was supposed to be calling me at 10 am, and to my dis-belief he called me exactly at 10 am. Then he asked me simple questions, which I answered easily. I think I answered his 70% of his questions. From the conversation I could easily make it out that he was more interested in knowing that, weather I would be able to cope with what google specializes in. he was not keenly interested in what I do the best. For about 15 mins he told me as what google does, what kind of roles they have, what are the challenges once you get in there. It seemed from the conversation that this kind of a job (or any kind of job at google) would be a very good one for a technical professional. He familiarized with me the concepts of working at google. The interview was more about me exploring google, rather than google exploring me. That call lasted for around 45-50 mins and he told me the hr would get back to me.
The first impression that I made out that I have messed it up a big time. To my surprise, I again got a call, say after a week or so and the guy (who called me for the very first time) told me that some HR guy would love to talk to me. I was happy, as the experience was becoming more fruitful. Time was setup, got a call again. The conversation started in a very casual manner, with questions like my love about a game, what do I like to do most. I had to tell him a whole story as how can a 5 day cricket game can motivate me. Then he moved on to some more challenging questions, like what problems do I face in my normal day to day life and how do I tackle with them. Things like, what would I do to resolve an issue with just convincing someone. This one also lasted for about 40-45 mins.
This time I was pretty happy with the way I delivered. On the contrary, I got a mail that I have not been selected for the further rounds. So guys, the experience was very good, but what I made out was that never make assumptions. Google recruitment team was very professional in interviewing with me. Although I could not make it to google, but the experience was worth. Things like this can actually motivate you a lot.
So, keep getting motivated and f**k the a** out of everything that you do……….
